Student Profile

Serenity High is open to students of all genders, race and faiths. The student body is composed of young men and women in grades 9 through 12. Each student is counseled by the staff to oversee the academic, personal and social development of the individual student. Further, the staff assist in the character growth of the student by serving as a life-skills mentor.

Serenity High is beginning its 7th year in existence and has served over 164 students from surrounding districts, including Allen, Anna, Celina, Coppell, Dallas, Farmersville, Flower Mound, Frisco, Garland, McKinney, Plano, Princeton, Richardson and Wylie.30 different high schools have been represented, as well as 36 different treatment centers.

Prospective Students

Admissions are ongoing throughout the school year for candidates that have successfully completed a treatment program at a recognized chemical substance abuse facility. To ensure that students will benefit from the program, students are admitted on the basis of demonstrated promise of future development, and a personal interview with the Principal, Juli Ferraro. Interviews can be scheduled by calling the school office at (469) 742-7830.

Please be prepared to bring ALL current transcripts, health records, discharge plans, and proof of residency to the interview to aid in the placement process. Enrollment may be delayed if records are not presented.

Referral Requirements
  1. Certificate of Completion from treatment center, discharge plan and home contract
  2. On-site essay from student
  3. Signed parent/student request for release of records and confidential information
  4. Withdrawal form from previous high school
  5. Transcript/grades/TAAS/TAKS/ immunization records
  6. Attendance report
  7. Discipline reports
  8. Assessment by Collin County Substance Abuse Program located at 825 N. McDonald St., Suite B, in McKinney. Phone: 972-548-5570
  9. Proof of residency (current utility bill or home contract/lease)
  10. Drug Screening (Drug Screening Sites (Word, 19K)
